  • Consider adding in improvisation sections between full playing of each song.
  • Students try to combine all three parts with the recording. Group leader gets 1 xylophone and 1 drum per group.
  • Try with John Cena theme song recording.
  • Facilitate each group, allow them to listen to recording and copy what they hear, provide simple diagrams if needed.
  • Challenge students to “figure out” each part by ear.
  • Provide basic playing technique instruction: recorder, xylophone or piano, drums.
  • Play John Cena song and model recorder part (ABGA, CBGA).
  • Lead a recorder warmup on the four notes that will be used (C BAG) to a hip-hop backbeat.
  • Briefly discuss that while wrestling is not for everyone, there is definitely an artform to it and it takes hard work there’s a lot to respect about someone who followed his passion.
  • TL DR- I gave it 3 stars because it’s still a great program but the latency kills silent play entirely and there’s a lot of work to do on the iPad version. This seems very much like a missed opportunity. That won’t work because I have to use the USB-C to connect to the drum module and there is not a way to send the audio from the app to the drum module out the 3.5mm headphone jack on the drums.

I contacted support about the issue and they said that the only way I could play silent without bluetooth lag is with an adapter for the USB-C to 3.5mm.

The USB-C port on the iPad is taken up and using Bluetooth results in double hits coming from the app and the kit- you also can’t turn down the kit volume to eliminate either of the noises and there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off the app drum hit noises.

I’m using Roland V-Drums kit with native capability and an iPad Pro and it is impossible with this hardware configuration to play this ap silently with the drums. The program itself is robust and has a lot of variety but the latency kills it for anyone hoping for silent drum practice. It’s a very good ap for drum beginners or in my case someone that’s trying to get back into it after several years away. Melodics is a training program for finger drumming and cue point drumming designed to develop the wide range of skills and technique necessary in modern production across a variety of styles and genres. I subscribed to the year program and have been using it daily since I got it two weeks ago. Probably better on Mac- Latency issues can’t play silent on newer iPads over Bluetooth- V-Drum Organise your plan explore, listen and save lessons, exercises or courses to your favourites – so that your practices are focused, more productive, and entirely tailored to your goals.
